COMMUNITY CHAMPION SCHOLARSHIP
"Be Active-Speak Out"
In honor of a lifelong Texas Activist the Southwest Dallas County Democrats will award the Ann Hubener Community Champion Scholarship to a graduate of Duncanville High School. Ann was passionate about things that mattered.
She worked to right the wrongs where there was an injustice like: clean air, gun control,, and city politics. She was smart, tough, opinionated and committed to her causes and politically astute. She was instrumental in forming the Downwinders at Risk – Cleaner Air Through Citizen Action.
Ann made Duncanville, Texas her home and owned her own real estate business. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, served on the Dallas County School Board, the MetroTex Board of Realtors and the Best Southwest Chamber of Commerce. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in Arlington.
Donations to this scholarship fund can be made by check and mailed to the SWDCD or donate to the Ann Hubener Scholarship GOFUNDME or SWDCD PayPal account. Visit the SWDCD website at www.southwestdallascountydemocrats.org.).
